Fairgoers like new cattle barn

GREENVILLE – The Darke County Fair Board pulled off the seemingly impossible task of providing a state of the art facility for the youth of our community after a December fire destroyed the two-large cattle barns at the North end of the fairgrounds.“I think it is tremendous because when the barns burnt in December the conversation for the next few months was, we are going to have to have a tent, there is no way we can get through all the things that have to happen through all the regulations and bid cycle to be able to get a building for the fair,” said Ohio Ag Net’s Dale Minyo.

 

Top youth awards presented

GREENVILLE - Despite some inclement weather, the awards for 4-H, junior fair and FFA, were passed out to deserving exhibitors. However, the Parade of Champions was canceled for this year.Most of the awards were presented in front of the Grandstand and, as inclement weather moved in, the venue was changed to the Youth Building where the rest were handed out.
