ST. MARYS, Ohio - Sheriff Al Solomon released Thursday morning that a St. Marys man was arrested on Tuesday evening following an investigation into the delivery of heroin from Dayton, Ohio.
Scott Neace, age 41, St. Marys was arrested at approximately 6:18 p.m. on Tuesday evening at U.S. Route 33 and Townline Kossuth Road. Neace was stopped by Auglaize County Deputies and Grand Lake Drug Task Force members for a traffic violation and a subsequent search of the vehicle and person revealed a substantial amount of heroin. Drug paraphernalia in the vehicle indicated the heroin was most likely going to be sold in the Auglaize and Mercer County area.
Neace was arrested for heroin possession and transported to the Auglaize County Jail where he is being held on a $50,000 10 percent bond.
Sheriff Solomon stated that “the heroin problem is escalating in this area and we are working hard at getting the source of the drug. This is a typical case of someone going to the Dayton area and buying the heroin to be sold in this community.”
Sheriff Solomon urges residents to call the Grand Lake Drug Task Force with any information concerning heroin use, sale or any other drug issues. Task Force phone number is 419-739-2966 and callers can remain anonymous.
