The holiday season can be so jam-packed with joyful gatherings that you begin to feel as though you are madly lurching from one party to another. Then the holiday season comes to a close, you return to regular recurring routines – and realize that you need a party.
The cold of winter causes you to want nothing more than to just hunker down on your comfy couch, basking in the warmth of a cozy fire until spring sets in. But then the hankering for hibernation declines, you feel confined, trapped inside and want to escape – you need a party.
Well, guess what! Darke County Center for the Arts has a great party planned just for you. Shed the post-holiday doldrums at the hottest place in town on Fri., Jan. 17, when DCCA presents “A Tasteful Wine and Jazz XXVI” at Montage Cafe in downtown Greenville. The energizing music will revive your high spirits, the food will comfort and delight you. And your participation in this really good time will help support the local arts organization that has been bringing high quality performing artists to our community for over 35 years.
Deron Bell and his “Jazz For You” band will provide the music which inspires the good time that is had by all. This talented ensemble can play almost anything, responding to the mood of their audience, underscoring quiet conversations or inducing gleeful dancing. Aaron and Michele Cox will devise a delectable assortment of hors d’ oeuvres to accompany the wines, their welcoming hospitality enhancing the sparkling atmosphere that permeates the party.
Darke County Center for the Arts’ officials work hard to create the inviting ambiance surrounding “A Taste of Wine and Jazz.” The comfortable, yet fun-filled vibe of “A Taste of Wine and Jazz” attracts a broad spectrum of local citizens, some of whom arrive alone, others who show up with six or eight of their closest friends. You’ll see people of all ages representing occupations of all kinds who might be chatting with the people at the next table, making friends with those ahead of them in the food line, getting to know people they’ve never met before, and greeting good friends and old acquaintances.
Folks, it’s party time! DCCA invites you to join the celebration that starts at 6:30 p.m. Reservations can be made by contacting DCCA at 937-547-0908 or email@example.com. Tickets cost $35 and are available on-line at www.center for arts.net and at Montage Cafe and DCCA’s office located on the third floor of Greenville Public Library.
