Lady Patriots earn No. 1 seed in OHSAA tournament

DARKE COUNTY — The Tri-Village girls basketball team earned a No. 1 seed in the Ohio High School Athletic Association girls basketball tournament, which begins next week.

The Tri-Village girls earned the No. 1 seed in the Division IV Brookville sectional. The Lady Patriots, who have advanced to the regional tournament each of the past four seasons, will open tournament play this year against No. 13 seed Emmanuel Christian at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 in Brookville.

Bradford and Franklin Monroe also are in the Brookville sectional with Tri-Village.

Bradford is the No. 3 seed in the sectional and opens tournament play against No. 10 seed Catholic Central at noon Feb. 15.

Franklin Monroe earned the No. 7 seed and begins tournament play against ninth-seeded Bethel at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 15.

Ansonia and Mississinawa Valley also are in Division IV but will play out of the Sidney sectional.

Ansonia is the ninth seed in Sidney and begins tournament play at 2 p.m. Feb. 15 against sixth-seeded Triad.

Mississinawa Valley is the No. 13 seed and has to play No. 1 seed Fort Loramie at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 15 to begin tournament play.

The Versailles girls earned the No. 2 seed in the Division III Tippecanoe sectional as the Lady Tigers are ranked behind Miami East. Versailles has a first-round bye and will play the winner of No. 8 seed Preble Shawnee and No. 9 seed Milton-Union at 6 p.m. Feb. 18.

Arcanum received the No. 4 seed in the Tippecanoe sectional. The Lady Trojans begin tournament play against sixth-seeded Brookville at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

The Greenville girls received the No. 14 seed in the Division II Tecumseh sectional. The Lady Wave have a first-round bye and will play the winner of No. 2 seed Tippecanoe and No. 10 seed Indian Lake at 6 p.m. Feb. 18.
