DETROIT — For the second-straight week and the third time this season, a Titan rookie has earned praise from the Horizon League as Megan Galloway (Greenville, Ohio/Greenville) was honored as the HL Freshman Of The Week.
It is the second time this season that Galloway has been tabbed with the accolade (Dec. 2) as well as the second week in a row following Minisha Frederick-Childress last week.
Galloway was a force inside for the Titans last week as she netted double digits on the road at Oakland and at Cleveland State in averaging 17.0 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game while shooting 55.1 percent (16-of-29).
She began the week by tallying a game and career-high 21 points with 10 rebounds against the Golden Grizzlies for her second double-double of the campaign. She then had 13 points and seven boards in just 18 minutes of court time against the Vikings.
On the year, Galloway has played in 22 games with 16 starts and is averaging 6.8 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game, shooting 52.0 percent (64-of-123) with a pair of double-doubles, including a season-best 11 caroms at Youngstown State.
Galloway and the Titans will have just one game this week as Detroit hosts Wright State on Saturday at 2 p.m. The game will follow UDM’s Annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day that begins at 10 a.m.
