PIQUA - A Miami County juvenile is in trouble with the law, once again.
Piqua police responded to the Piqua Walmart on Friday afternoon on the report of a fight in the parking lot.
They arrived to find that the scuffle was between a shoplifting suspect and store security.
The suspect, identified as Jah Batdorf, 20, of Piqua, was allegedly caught shoplifting then fought with store security when confronted.
Batdorf, fled the scene into nearby woods. Piqua police, with assistance from Miami County sheriff’s deputies and the Ohio Highway Patrol began a search of the area.
A K-9 unit from Tipp City police was requested, but Batdorf was located before the dog arrived.
He was taken into custody without further incident.
Batdorf was transported to the Miami County Jail where he faces charges of theft, underage possession of alcohol and resisting arrest.
The youth was involved in an incident in March of this year, in Piqua, where he was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, trafficing, OVI, carrying a concealed weapon and underage drinking.
