Wildflowers celebrate 40th anniversary

GREENVILLE — Wildflower Garden Club members recently celebrated their 40th anniversary with dinner at Turtle Creek. A meeting followed.

Roll call was answered by members naming their first meeting memory and number of years in club.

The club was formed in 1975. Its purpose is sharing and education for better understanding of flowers, gardens and arranging.

Its civic beautification projects include Darke County Animal Shelter, flower beds at Moose Lodge, Wayne HealthCare flower pots at entrance on Central Avenue and flower pots at Lowell Thomas House.

Fundraisers include a plant sale the first week of May and selling fair tickets at Rural King.

Cake was enjoyed and memories were shared. Judy Burns, 40-year member, shared albums of pictures of past club activities. A door prize of homemade goods was furnished by hostess Barb Rhoades was won by Elkie Melling.
