WINCHESTER, Ind. — The Ansonia and Mississinawa Valley boys golf teams met up in Winchester for a non-league showdown Thursday.
The Tigers were able to out-shoot the Blackhawks, winning 168-193. The loss halted a four-match winning streak for Mississinawa Valley.
Ryan Rehmert carded the low score on the day, shooting a 36 for the Blackhawks. His effort was not enough for the Hawks to overcome Ansonia’s balance.
Ansonia’s top four golfers all carded 45 or better. Paul Schlecty led the Tigers with a 38. Other Tiger scores were Daniel Fitzgerald’s 41, Kelli Sewell’s 44, John Liette’s 45, Dave Schlechty’s 46, and Luke Kimmel’s 52.
Blackhawk scores were Alex Brooks shot a 42, and Kyle Mestemaker and Bryce Pollic both had 57s. Trey Mendenhall shot a 66.
Ansonia will play Tri-Village at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Highland. Mississinawa Valley will play Covington at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Echo Hills Golf Course.
