GREENVILLE — The Greenville girls tennis team swept Sidney 5-0 in varsity competition Wednesday night in Greenville.
The win improved the Lady Wave’s record to 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference.
“They have won two in a row now,” Greenville coach Jim Koontz said. “Maybe we are starting to come around a little bit. Hopefully we keep it going.”
In singles, Sophia Navas-Davis beat Monica Kislig 6-2, 6-0 in the first match. In No. 2 singles Meredith Miles of Greenville beat Jaclyn Covington 6-1, 6-2. Michelle Borgerding beat Ardi Li 6-0, 6-0 in third singles.
In doubles, Nicole Leis and Kirby Lantz beat Kassi Edwards and Katie Salyers 6-2, 6-0 in the first spot. Caitlyn Jetter and Alexis Medley beat Deidre Drees and Molly Kies 6-1, 6-0 in No. 2 doubles.
The junior varsity team followed the varsity win with a 6-0 victory.
In junior varsity action, Patricia DiStefano won 8-5, Alex Myers and Madison Bixler won 8-4, Sara Fisher and Rachel Britsch won 8-2, Megan Galloway and Holly Cameron won 8-1, Natalie Blinn and Alexis Wentworth won 8-1, Erin Scott and Rachael Britsch won 8-3.
