Ryan Carpe arrives at The Daily Advocate with a combination of writing, reporting and video experience.

In 2005, he earned a bachelors degree in communications from Ohio University and went on to work for WSYX in Columbus as a studio camera operator and floor director.

Later he covered Chicago local games, ranging from basketball, soccer and football. In 2012, he completed his master's degree in journalism from Ohio University.

His wife grew up in Greenville and her love of the community transferred immediately, which instilled an earnest desire to provide reliable news for Darke County.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing poker, backpacking and watching movies.
