Ansonia wins Volley for the Cure match

BRADFORD – Ansonia came back from a two-game deficit to beat Bradford Wednesday night during a Volley for the Cure match in Bradford that helped raise money for a Bradford community member.

On a night in which the schools sported pink uniforms, Bradford auctioned and raffled items to raise money for Sarah Hackett, the mother of Bradford assistant volleyball coach Jennifer Evans. Hackett is battling cancer, and the teams used their match as an opportunity to raise money and awareness.

“I just love it,” Bradford volleyball coach Jamie Hocker said. “I love being able to do something for someone in our community who really needs the help.”
