PREBLE COUNTY
- Deputies were called to the 2900 block of Eaton Gettysburg Road Sunday at approximately 3:30 p.m. after a property owner discovered suspicious items in a barn on the property. Investigators determined that the items located were used for the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
Investigators discovered a large amount of equipment and chemicals, including anhydrous ammonia, in the barn. It appears that the lab has been in the barn for some time. Investigators removed multiple propane tanks, several of which contained anhydrous ammonia, from the property.
Deputies have a suspect in the case and our investigation will continue. Preble County deputies were assisted on the scene by The Butler County Sheriff’s Office, the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation of the Attorney General’s Office and Eaton Fire and EMS. A clean-up crew was called to the scene to remove the hazardous materials located.
