Wave finish second at Piqua meet

Jacob Butsch led Greenville as he placed second in the Piqua Invitational cross country meet Saturday in Piqua.


PIQUA – The Greenville boys finished second and the Greenville girls finished fourth at the Piqua Invitational cross country meet Saturday in Piqua.

Greenville’s boys finished second to Miamisburg. Miami East, Stebbins, Sidney, Wayne, Troy, Hamilton, Piqua and Urbana followed the Green Wave.

Greenville’s Jacob Butsch finished second overall with a time of 17:21. Calen Bruner placed fifth with a time of 17:36, Cylas Conway placed third with a time of 17:58, Bailey Hartle placed 10th with a time of 18:41, Caleb Oda placed 22nd with a time of 18:43, and Heath Marker placed 23rd with a time of 18:46.

The Greenville girls placed fourth, finishing behind Seton, Miamisburg and Miami East. The Lady Wave beat Wayne, Sidney, Piqua and Hamilton.

Kristen Karns led Greenville as she placed sixth with a time of 20:54. Emily Hayes finished 15th with a time of 21:18, Cheyann Beam finished 19th with a time of 21:39, Hannah Coakley finished 21st with a time of 22:14, Ally Hayes finished 22nd with a time of 22:29, Zoe Steifel finished 23rd with a time of 22:39, and Chloe McKinney finished 26th with a time of 22:46.
