DARKE COUNTY — On Thursday morning, the 2013 Darke County March for Babies Leadership Breakfast was held at St. Clair Manor in Greenville. Area business leaders joined together to learn about March of Dimes and its annual March for Babies.
The 75th anniversary of March of Dimes is marked in 2013. According to Angelé Price, community director for March of Dimes, the March for Babies walks started in 1970.
“Seventy-five years ago, President Franklin Roosevelt started this program then as a means of helping to finance the fight against polio. …It has evolved over the years now into a fight against prematurity and wrapped around the whole realm of healthy babies,” said Bill LaFramboise of Greenville Technology Incorporated (GTI).
