COVINGTON
- It was a cold, windy and dreary night for football and what would it be without rain for the 6th time this year. Arcanum had hopes of upsetting 9-0 Covington…but on this night it would take a little more than rain to stop the Buccaneers.
Covington jumped out to a 38-0 halftime lead and went on to a 45-0 lead to end the 3rd quarter. Arcanum though didn’t fold scoring twice in the final quarter before falling by the score of 45-13.
“Our team wanted to go out leaving it all on the field, said Arcanum head coach TJ Powers. At the half we talked about the score being 0-0 and not to quit, which would have been easy to do on a night like tonight. Even though we lost on the scoreboard, our seniors went out winners tonight with their effort and leadership," added Powers.
Arcanum ends the year at 3-7 overall and 2-7 in the Cross County Conference.
