UNION CITY, Ohio - Kathy Marker, Union City’s clerk of courts as well as a paramedic with the Union City, Ohio, Fire Department, was honored recently by the board of directors of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians for achieving 20 consecutive years of service.

“This is an honor held by few, and we are grateful for your ongoing support and dedication,” read a letter received by her from the executive director of the National Registry.

To maintain her status as a nationally registered EMT, Marker completed, on a biennial basis, the most comprehensive re-certification program for emergency medical technicians (EMTs) in America. She not only completed courses to refresh her fundamental knowledge and skills but also attended a minimum of two hours per month of additional continuing education courses to advance her knowledge on new lifesaving skills.
