Editor:
I would like to compliment the Darke County Board of Elections on the very well run balloting that we were fortunate to have here in Darke County on Election Day Nov. 6. As a “certified” election observer, I can attest to the excellent job that Director Becky Martin and her staff accomplished on Election Day. Observing at both local precincts and the Darke County Board of Elections, I can say that all of the poll workers and staff did a top notch job.
In Neave Township for example, there were only a total on average of 15 voters waiting in line at any one time to cast their ballot and when the polls opened at 6:30 a.m. those standing in line were able to quickly and efficiently vote and leave the polling place within 11 minutes. No 6 hour waiting in line in Darke County, Ohio. This is a credit to our local election officials.
Congratulations to Neave Township Presiding Judge Shirley Delaplane and her able coworkers: Judy Hathaway, Terri Kline and Marsha Rieman. Also an excellent job done in the Butler Township precinct headed up by Presiding Judge Katherine Billenstein.
I am very proud to have been an observer in Darke County during this recent election and certainly appreciate the careful and conscientious effort put forth by our local Board of Elections. Mission accomplished, job well done!
Sincerely,
Ted Finnarn
