NEW MADISON – The Tri-Village girls basketball team rebounded from Saturday’s unpleasing performance to beat Houston 62-35 Tuesday night in New Madison.

Tri-Village coach Brad Gray said he wasn’t happy with the team’s play Saturday but saw a much better performance in Tuesday’s game.

“I thought we played extremely well, much better than what we played Saturday (when the Lady Patriots beat National Trail 47-46),” Gray said. “Hopefully, like I said, Saturday was a wake-up call for us. I thought tonight we were a pretty darn good basketball team.”

One of the big keys to the Lady Patriots’ turnaround was their defense, which held Houston to five points in the first quarter.
