GREENVILLE - The Greenville City Park once again has that Christmas feel, thanks to a local business.

Employees from the New Can Company, located at 1367 Sater St. in Greenville, got together in July and started plans to help decorate the park for the holidays.

“Our office is full of longtime residents of Greenville and really missed seeing the colorful lights in the park, so we decided to do something about it,” said Cindy Austen, Quality Manager at New Can Company.

The seven employees volunteered their time creating and setting up the decorations at the island in the large lagoon the day after Thanksgiving.

“The park board is very grateful to New Can Company and their employees for the beautiful Christmas decorations that are adorning the park lagoon islands. It’s been a long time since they have been lit and they look great,” stated Park Board President Kathy Beam.
