VERSAILLES – The Versailles boys basketball team will look to defend its championship at the Tigers’ second annual Versailles Holiday Tournament.

Versailles beat Miami East last year in the championship game of the inaugural tournament to claim the first title. This year Versailles and Miami East return along with Anna and Brookville for the 2012 version of the tournament.

“I think it will be a big game for us, a big tournament,” Versailles boys basketball coach Scott McEldowney said. “The competition will be good but we hope to put ourselves back in the championship and give ourselves a chance to win.”

The varsity tournament will begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday with Miami East taking on Brookville. Versailles then will play Anna at 8 p.m. Friday. The winners from Friday’s games will play for the championship at 8 p.m. Saturday, which will be preceded by the consolation game at 6:30 p.m.
