DARKE COUNTY – The Tri-Village and Versailles girls basketball teams were ranked in the first Associated Press girls state basketball poll of the 2012-13 season.
Tri-Village is ranked No. 3 in Division IV and received two first-place votes. The Lady Patriots are ranked behind Ottoville and Newark Catholic.
Versailles is ranked No. 8 in Division III and received one first-place vote. The Lady Tigers are ranked behind Smithville, Columbus Africentric, Gates Mills Gilmour, Archbold, Anna, Orrville and Beachwood.
Other local teams that were ranked in the state poll included Fairmont of the Greater Western Ohio Conference in Division I, Centerville of the GWOC in Division I, Miami East of the Cross County Conference in Division III and Fort Recovery of the Midwest Athletic Conference in Division IV.
