The morning after Christmas
This is what you would see
If you saw this little boy
Who never had a Christmas tree.
He didn’t know what presents were
Yet he would always pray
And if you were close to him
Here is what you’d hear him say:
My mother always taught me
To take things as they come
No matter what the consequence
To try them one by one.
He gave us all these beautiful things
That makes this world of ours
He gave us all the birds and bees
And all the beautiful flowers.
Also the beasts of burden
Which helps us every day
And all the stars up in the sky
That guides us on our way.
I know that he is watching
She told me he’s always near
So if I never have nothing else
I have Him from year to year.
So Christmas makes me happy
In a different kind of way
And you could be just like me
All you have to do is pray.
