Barb Gerken, regional sales manager for Cornerstone Broker Insurance Services Agency, Inc., addressed a crowd of Darke County Chamber of Commerce members Friday morning for the sixth annual Ground Hog Day Breakfast. Gerken gave this group of business leaders an update on what’s happening with the Affordable Care Act, and what steps businesses should be taking to prepare for the upcoming changes. Many members left the breakfast feeling overwhelmed by the amount of information Gerken was able to present in such a short time, they said.
GREENVILLE - The Darke County Chamber of Commerce held their sixth annual Groundhog Day Breakfast on Friday, and the verdict is in, the future of healthcare in America is still largely unknown, but there are changes coming daily where the Affordable Care Act is concerned, stated Barb Gerkin, regional sales manager for Cornerstone Broker Insurance.
Gerken addressed a group of Chamber of Commerce members Friday morning concerning the steps they should be taking now to prepare for the changes that are coming in 2013 and 2014 with the Affordable Care Act.
“If a business hasn’t started their planning process to strategize to handle the impact of the ACA, it needs to begin now,” said Chris Gigandet, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and employee at Phelan Insurance Agency.
