GREENVILLE – Orders continue to pour in for Cope’s Distributing in Greenville, so many that Roger Cope has had to turn people away, he said. Cope stated that sales have seen a large increase since the 2012 election and President Obama’s executive actions in mid-January.

“A lot of the product is not available right now, or when it comes in, it’s been selling out within minutes of it arriving,” Cope said. “[There is] a lot of panic buying right now, people are scared, the uncertainty, the [president’s] executive actions…”

According to the Associated Press, background checks are currently down due to the lack of available guns for purchase, but there were still 2.48 million checks done nationally in January 2013.
