Rick Reed, a Union City High School teacher with a background in industrial arts, has helped the Preservation Society out in getting the Bashore building ready for occupation later on in the year.
UNION CITY, Ohio - Renovation work at the historic Bashore building at 207 E. Elm St. here is moving right along.
The Union City, Ohio-Indiana, Preservation Society is restoring the building, built in the late 1860s, for commercial space. The society acquired the structure from Union City, Ohio, which leased the building to them last May to begin stabilizing it, first on the outside and then on the interior.
The Preservation Society received a grant from the Community Foundation of Randolph County to help with the building.
