GREENVILLE - Nearly 100 area children had the opportunity to learn about safety on the farm when they attended fifth annual Progressive Agriculture Safety Day on Tuesday at the Darke County Fairgrounds, thanks to the Darke County chapter of Farm Safety 4 Just Kids.
The event, which is designed for children ages 7-12, was held in the youth building and featured six sessions: ATV safety by Chad Warner; grain safety presented by Bunge Agrium; going green by Krista Fourman of Darke County Solid Waste Management; PTO (power take-off) safety by Ted Finnarn, attorney; life on the farm, by Chris Rowlings from Aullwood Nature Center; and healthy lifestyles by Dr. Adam Schwartz of Wayne Hospital.
