Neighbors fight Koinonia house

By Michael Buckmaster

News Editor

Chris Boyd, 502 E. Third St., said Tuesday he plans to continue his efforts to block a proposal by the Rev. John Graham to create a Koinonia House transitional home for released prisoners at 442. E Third St.

Boyd, who was accompanied by several residents of the area in opposition to the proposal, acknowledged the Koinonia House program may be needed, but would like to see it located somewhere besides a residential area.

"We'd like to see this program stopped, or at least moved out of town," Boyd emphasized. "We feel it's unsafe for the people and unsafe for the kids. We're really concerned about the kids' safety.

"This kind of program may be needed, but not in the middle of a residential zone."
