GREENVILLE — The softball fields around Greenville High School aren’t much, but every week during the summer they bring together people from across Darke County.
On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings during the summer, 20 teams from churches across Darke County come to Greenville for friendly games of softball. They play in three leagues sponsored by the Greenville Parks and Recreation Department on a pair of softball fields near Greenville High School.
“I think it’s great,” said Jeff Pequignot, the Greenville Parks and Recreation director. “I’m glad we’re able to supply it for the churches that want to get involved.”
The teams play in three leagues — a co-ed youth league, a co-ed adult league and an adult league that mostly features men.
