GETTYSBURG — The annual Gettysburg Homecoming Festival is set for all day Saturday, with a 5K Walk/Run slated to get underway at 9 a.m.

Beginning and ending at the Gettysburg Cardinal Center (formerly Gettysburg Elementary School) at 260 E. Main St., the 5K course features a mix of town and country with terrain suitable for beginners and experienced runners.

Registration on the day of the race is from 8 to 8:45 a.m. The parade begins at Norcold, with Esther (Petersime) Clark serving as grand marshal.

Race divisions are for ages 20 and under; 21-30; 31-40; and 41 and older. Male and female first-place finishers in each age division will receive an award.

Online registration ends Wednesday and paper registrations will be accepted until the day of the race. Register online at http://cantstoprunningco.com/events-list/ or call 937-621-9419 for an entry form. Entry forms are also available at Gettysburg branch of Greenville National Bank and Lavy’s Corner Mart.

A community-wide garage sale is scheduled to be held at the school.

Also featured will be a flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; historic display of Petersime Incubator Co. memorabilia, featuring a classic incubator; class photos of Gettysburg graduates; food concessions; a bounce house; and other activities for children. A pickup game — softball or volleyball — also is planned at 1 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit Friends of the Cardinal Center, a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation, for continued Cardinal Center renovation, operation and funding of community programs.
