Large amounts of Meth found during traffic stop

GREENVILLE — A New Weston mother was arrested Wednesday morning during a traffic stop for possession of large amounts of methamphetamines.

On August 24, at approximately 12:18 a.m., a Darke County Deputy Canine Unit conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 silver Buick Rendezvous for a lanes of travel violation near the intersection of Greenville Celina Road and Childrens Home Bradford Road.

The driver, Ambre N. Landis, 34, of New Weston, Ohio was traveling with her seven-year-old child in the vehicle. During the traffic stop, the deputy deployed his canine partner for a free air sniff of the vehicle and the canine made a positive indication for narcotics. The Greenville Police Department assisted.

Landis was arrested and transported to the Darke County Jail on charges of Possession of Methamphetamines and Endangering Children. Her child was released to the custody of a family member.
