Winery opens tasting room

ARCANUM — A.R. Winery is popping the corks and pouring the glasses this Saturday, Sept. 5, from 3 to 9 p.m. at the newly opened wine tasting room, located 3564 Gordon Landis Road.

Russell and Angie Rex are excited to open their doors. Guests get to step back in time when they enter the doors of A.R. Winery. While sipping on their wine, patrons can enjoy looking at the handpainted mural on the tasting bar, by local artist Shelly Flory, and the wide variety of vintage signs and antiques filling the walls.

The winery’s latest releases include its first red grape wine, “Caught Red Handed,” and the tropical storm “El Nino,” an explosion of strawberry, pineapple, mango and papaya. Also new on the shelves is the one-of-a-kind margarita-inspired “El Loco Lime,” which begs for sipping from a salt-rimmed glass. Other choices include the two-time silver-medal award winner, “Lock, Stock & Berries,” or the “Forbidden Apple” that just won gold and Best In Class at the Indy International Wine Competition.

A.R. Winery wines can be found behind Russell and Angie’s border collie, Fuel, on every label, on the shelves at Eikenberry’s IGA, Montage, Hot Rods & Harleys in Greenville, Sutton’s Super Value in Arcanum, and Miami Valley Wine & Spirits in Tipp City.

Visit the website at www.arwinery.com or call Russell at 937-417-0565 for a list of all stores they’re currently in and to keep up-to-date on all events happening on the farm. The winery will currently be open on Saturdays only.
