Rep. Buchy honors 2016 Ohio Fairs’ Queen

COLUMBUS — State Representative Jim Buchy (R-Greenville) recently presented a resolution to Mary Buehler honoring her as the 2016 Ohio Fairs’ Queen at the Ohio Statehouse.

Each year, a queen is chosen at the Ohio Fairs’ Queen contest where representatives from each county and independent fair compete. Mary represents Ohio’s county and independent fairs as an advocate for fairs and the agricultural industry. She plans to use fairs as a vehicle for agriculturalists and consumers to come together to decrease the gap between the two.

Prior to her Ohio fairs’ Queen title Mary served as the Shelby County Fair Queen. Currently, she is a student at the Ohio State University, where she studies agriculture and environmental science. Mary is also the FFA State Vice President and is a former state President of the FCCLA.

“Mary is an exceptional young person and a great voice for agriculture and our western Ohio values,” Buchy said. “Her efforts as the Ohio State Fairs’ Queen will improve Ohio’s county and independent fairs as she serves as a voice for youth engaged in Jr. Fair programs throughout the state.”

Buehler was present to receive her resolution during the Ohio House session.
