GREENVILLE - Scott Family McDonald’s celebrated the 25th anniversary of their north town Greenville location on Monday during a ribbon cutting with the Darke County Chamber of Commerce.
“Greenville has been an awesome community to do business in,” said Benny Scott, Jr., owner of the Scott Family McDonald’s franchise. “We do business in eight different communities, and Greenville is at the top of our list.”
At the time the location for the first of two Greenville McDonalds was chosen, there was nothing else around, Scott said.
“When my dad bought this, it was farmland - dirt. It was kind of a ‘build it and they will come,’ thing,” Scott laughed. “We’re so appreciative to have had this community grow around us.”
All this week, the north town Greenville location will have activities and specials to celebrate 25 years and show appreciation to the community that has supported them, Scott said.
Greenville Mayor Mike Bowers presented a proclamation, recognizing McDonald’s as a central part of the Greenville community, and a “great corporate citizen,” he said, providing support for the community in the form of employment and charitable donations.
