GREENVILLE — Greenville was host to the 8U and 10U All Star Girls softball tournament under the direction of Greenville Girls Softball Association president Eric Fellers this past weekend.

“We have great facilities,” GGSA President Eric Fellers said. “People love coming here to play. They look forward coming here these next two weekends to play at this facility.”

Teams came from as far away as Upper Sandusky and Indian Lake while having local representation from Darke County teams from Ansonia, Arcanum and Greenville.

“The GGSA board comes out and helps with the tournaments,” Fellers said.

Saturday’s play was a round-robin followed up with a single elimination tournament on Sunday to determine the tournament champions.

Indian Lake took home the first place trophy in the 8U with Lewisburg finishing second in the tournament.

The Fairbanks Panthers from Milford Center placed first for the 10U girls.

The Arcanum Lady Trojans finished a strong second with the Greenville girls taking third place in the 10U.

“This weekend we will do our 12U and 14U,” Fellers said. “We should have a total of around 20-25 teams so the next two weekends. We will be bringing a lot of people in from out of town into Greenville supporting the community businesses, restaurants and stores.”
