BRADFORD — The Bradford football team hosted the fourth annual Chad Nolan Memorial 5K on Saturday in memory of a Bradford football player who died on Sept. 16, 1985, after suffering a fatal injury in a Railroader football game.
Almost 50 runners and walkers participated in the 5K, which served in remembrance of Chad Nolan and raised money for a scholarship that is presented to a Bradford student in his name.
“The thing we’ve been fortunate to do is bless student-athletes with an opportunity to receive a scholarship in his name to go on to college,” Bradford football coach Curtis Enis said. “It’s just a legacy. When you do something like this, you don’t want anybody to ever be forgotten. It’s a very small, tight-knit community.”
