ROSSBURG – A 16-year-old boy was airlifted Friday afternoon after a rollover accident.

On Friday, at approximately 3:20 p.m. Darke County Deputies along with North Star Fire and Ansonia Rescue were dispatched to Greenville St. Mary’s Road just south of Wabash York Road.

The preliminary investigation revealed a black 2003 Ford Taurus, driven by Samuel Barga, 16 of Rossburg, was traveling north on Greenville St. Mary’s Road and passed a vehicle in front of him and then failed to negotiate a curve losing control of the vehicle. The car traveled off the left side of the roadway and rolled several times in a field.

His 14-year-old brother was a front seat passenger in the car.

Samuel was transported to the CareFlight landing zone at the Darke County Sheriff’s Office and flown to Miami Valley Hospital for his injuries and his brother was treated and released at the scene. Both teens were wearing seat belts.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
