Man surrenders after Crime Stoppers listing
GREENVILLE - Registered sex offender, Matthew A. Napier, 25, of Greenville turned himself in to the Darke Couny Jail after being posted on the Crime Stoppers Most Wanted list Wednesday.
Law enforcement were unable to locate Napier after an indictment was handed down in November for Failure to Notify an Address Change, a felony of the fourth degree. He was ordered to register as a sex offender after a 2010 conviction for Sexual Conduct with a Minor.
According to the Crime Stoppers website, Napier was in jail just four hours after being featured as a Most Wanted fugitive.
“This is one of the fastest turnarounds we have seen since the site launch in Nov. 2010.” said organization president Clinton Randall. “With the email alerts and social media networking, getting a new listing to the public is quicker than ever before.”
He received a bond in the the amount of $10,000 during an initial appearance in the Darke County Common Pleas Court Friday morning. He is scheduled to appear for a pre-trial on Jan. 24, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. He faces up to 18 months and a $5,000 if convicted under the current indictment. Violations are also possible against Napier for a current community control sanction.
