Greenville man airlifted after early morning accident

NEW MADISON - A Greenville man was airlifted after an injury accident early Tuesday morning while likely suffering from a medical condition, authorities said.

At approximately 6:07 a.m. Darke County deputies along with New Madison Fire, Tri-Village Rescue and CareFlight responded to the 4100 block of Hogpath Road on a report of the accident. A preliminary investigation revealed a Silver 2013 Toyota Scion, driven by Samuel Pickett, 23, of Greenville, was traveling west on Hogpath Road and crossed the center line traveling off the left side of the roadway and struck a mailbox before coming to rest in a field.

Pickett was airlifted aboard CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital to be treated. This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
