DARKE COUNTY - The Darke County Fair Poultry Barn recently went through some major improvements to improve the quality of the barn for the exhibitors and fair participates. A large majority of the poultry barn has been concreted and a special thanks to the generous donations of various businesses, individuals and organization for making this possible.
The Junior Fair Poultry Committee would like to thank the following for helping support the major poultry barn renovation project.
The gold level sponsors on the poultry barn include: Darke County Farm Bureau, Marion Local Young Farmers, Keller Feed & Grain Inc, King & Sons Poultry Service Inc, Darke County Pork Producers, Cal-Maine Foods, Darke County Agriculture Society, The Andersons Ethanol Plant and Cooper Farms Foundation. The gold sponsors contributed over $1,000 to the poultry barn project.
The silver sponsors of the poultry barn projects included: Farm Credit Services Mid America, Versailles Branch, Versailles Feedmill, Matt and Morgan Aultman and family and Dave Shives Concessions. The silver sponsoring ranged from $999 to $500.
The bronze sponsorship donors included: Dave Knapp Ford, Jeff and Dena Wuebker and family, Versailles FFA Alumni, Melvin and Mary Ann Stucke, Mark and Mary Ann Stucke, Menke Consulting, Inc, Hunt’s Butchering Shop, Weaver Brothers, Kenny and Karla Greer and family, Zac Longenecker, Dave and Karen Niley, Jerry Marker, Jim and Diane Zumbrink, Diane Evans-State Farm Insurance, Richard and Karen Delk, Randy and Sharon Fourman and Scott and Cindy Riffle. The bronze sponsors contributed under $500.
At the 2014 Darke County Junior Fair Poultry Sale several special items will be sold at the auction to help support the remaining cost of the poultry barn concrete projects those items to be sold include: poultry container with flowers donated by Countryside Landscaping, large roaster picture donated by Jeff and Dena Wuebker, gift certificates for poultry products donated by King & Sons Poultry Services and another poultry items donated by Kenny and Karla Greer.
The Junior Fair poultry sale will take place on Weds., Aug. 20, following the rabbit sale that takes place at 6 p.m. in the swine barn.
