Bradford to induct 2 into Hall of Fame

BRADFORD – Bradford will hold its 22nd Athletic Hall of Fame night on Saturday.

The induction ceremony will take place between the junior varsity and varsity boys basketball games vs. Newton. The junior varsity game will start at 6 p.m.

The 2016 Bradford Athletic Hall of Fame class inductees are Chad Felver and Don McReynolds.

Felver is a 2000 graduate of Bradford High School. During his athletic career at Bradford High School, Felver earned seven letters in football, basketball and track.

While participating in basketball Felver was all-conference, Darke County All Star, Piqua Daily Call point leader, Advocate leader board scoring champ, Miami Valley All Star, Southwest District third team and District 9 All Star.

He averaged 22 points per game, scoring 438 his senior year. He averaged seven rebounds per game with an impressive 82 percent free throw shooting, earning him District 9 first team honors.

While participating in track Felver placed sixth at the state meet in high jump his junior year and fourth in the state his senior year. He set the Bradford high jump record at 6 feet 9 inches.

McReynolds is a 1985 graduate of Bradford High School. During his athletic career at Bradford High School, McReynolds earned 12 varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball.

McReynolds was a member of the 1981, 1982 and 1983 league championship football teams. In 1982 he was a punter, kicker, safety and receiver on the 10-0 state semifinal team under coach Kent Shafer.

During his senior year he was first team all-CCC in football, second team in baseball and honorable mention in basketball.

McReynolds’ most memorable moments were beating Covington at Covington in basketball and hitting four home runs in a single game against Arcanum.
