LEWISBURG — Six Arcanum wrestlers placed at the Panther Invitational on Saturday at Tri-County North.
Arcanum finished sixth out of nine teams at the invitational. Thurgood Marshal won the meet, Tri-County North placed second, National Trail placed third, Triad placed fourth, Lehman Catholic placed fifth, Arcanum placed sixth, Twin Valley South placed seventh, Meadowdale placed eighth, and Greenville’s junior varsity placed ninth.
Arcanum’s Kyle Carlisle won the 120-pound weight class with a 4-1 record.
Greenville’s Hunter Gambrel won the 126-pound class, and Arcanum’s Caleb Sanders finished as the runner up with a 2-3 record.
Mike Scott from Arcanum finished second in the 106-pound class with a 1-2 record. Brad Byers placed second in the 195-pound weight class with a 4-1 record that included four pins.
Chase Gostomsky of Arcanum placed fourth in the 170-pound class with a 2-2 record while Arcanum’s Lucas Gower placed fourth in the 182-pound class with a 1-3 record.
Arcanum’s Keegan Artz went 1-1 on the day and was in line to place in the 152-pound class before exiting the tournament with a twisted ankle.
Also of note, Byers finished third last week in the Troy Invitational.
