COLUMBUS — Tri-Village moved up while Versailles maintained its ranking and Franklin Monroe slipped in this week’s Associated Press’ boys basketball poll.


In the second AP poll of the season, undefeated Tri-Village moved up one spot in Division IV from No. 6 to No. 5.


Convoy Crestview, Marion Local, Bethel and Canal Winchester Harvest Prep are ranked ahead of Tri-Village in Division IV.


Franklin Monroe, meanwhile, fell from its No. 7 spot in Division IV to 12th in the state rankings after a loss to No. 7 Troy Christian.


In addition to Tri-Village and the other top five teams, Franklin Monroe is ranked behind Peebles, Troy Christian, Berlin Hiland, Sandusky St. Mary, Toledo Ottawa Hills and New Washington Buckeye Central in Division IV.


In Division III, Versailles stayed at No. 4 in the state poll despite a loss to No. 3 Lima Central Catholic.


Versailles is ranked behind St. Bernard Roger Bacon, Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph and Lima Central Catholic.


This is the second consecutive week that Darke County has had three teams ranked in the boys basketball state poll.


A number of teams with local connections also are ranked in this week’s poll. Greater Western Ohio Conference member Trotwood-Madison is ranked second in Division I, Midwest Athletic Conference member Marion Local is second in Division IV, and Cross County Conference member Bethel is third in Division IV.
