MINSTER — The Versailles softball team gave up three unearned runs as it lost 5-1 to Minster on Thursday in a Midwest Athletic Conference game.
Versailles scored first with a run in the top half of the first inning but then gave up three runs in the bottom of the first and two more in the second to lose 5-1.
Versailles had four hits and four errors in the game. Minster had five hits and two errors.
Rachel Wenning was the losing pitcher as she pitched a complete game, allowing two earned runs and three unearned runs on five hits, one walk and four strikeouts.
Kristin Langston went 1-for-3 with a walk, a triple and a run scored for Versailles. Aimee Powell was 1-for-3 with a triple.
Megan Murphy was 1-for-4 and drove in Versailles’ lone run. Lauren Heitkamp went 1-for-3, and Miranda Huddle walked twice.
Versailles fell to 6-5 with the loss.
