PIQUA — The Greenville and Versailles boys golf teams competed in the 28th annual Scott Homan Memorial with Versailles finishing ninth and Greenville finishing 15th in the 17-team field Monday at Piqua Country Club.


Troy won the invitational with a team score of 309, finishing 39 strokes ahead of Versailles and 82 strokes ahead of Greenville. Tippecanoe finished second, 17 strokes behind Troy.


Minster placed third with a 330, Northmont was fourth with a 333, Miami East was fifth with a 334, St. Marys finished sixth with a 339, Covington placed seventh with a 344, and Wapakoneta finished eighth with a 347.


After ninth-place Versailles, host Piqua finished 10th with a 367, Lehman Catholic finished 11th with a 382, Tecumseh was 12th with a 384, Sidney placed 13th with a 385, and Urbana was 14th with a 386. Following 15th place Greenville were Milton-Union in 16th place with a 406 and Piqua B in 17th place with a 438.


Jacob Watren led Versailles by shooting an 85 for the 18-hole round. Also for the Tigers, Nicholas Litten-Stonebraker and Griffen Riegle both shot an 87, Kyle Cotner shot an 89, and Michael Hemmelgarn shot a 105.


Jason Shields led Greenville with his round of 85. Also for the Green Wave, Andrew Harshman shot a 100, Parker Allison and A.J. Bowers both shot a 103, and Drew New shot a 104.


Troy’s Troy Moore was the invitational’s medalist as he shot a round of 73.
