GREENVILLE — The Greenville girls tennis team lost its Greater Western Ohio Conference North Division opener on Wednesday, falling 3-2 to Troy as every match went to three sets.

Greenville’s Raquel Navas-Davis beat Hannah Essick 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 in the first singles match.

The Lady Wave also picked up a win at second doubles where Erin Scott and Bavi Kaur beat Akari Nagata and Zoey Scancarello 6-1, 2-6, 6-1.

At first doubles Greenville’s Holly Cameron and Mallory Rich lost 2-6, 7-5, 7-5 to Maddie Kleptz and Marina Wehrkamp.

In second singles the Wave’s Madison Bixler lost 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 to Maggie Hennessy. In the third singles match, Greenville’s Abby Monnin lost 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 to Ashley Bruns.

Greenville is now 5-3 overall and 0-1 in the GWOC North while Troy improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the GWOC North. The Lady Wave continue their season on Tuesday at Vandalia-Butler.
