Today’s Challenges: The daring adventure

0

Many years ago, Helen Keller wrote these words, “Life is either a daring adventure, or it is nothing.” I have been so blessed to have been on so many adventures in my life, (some would say that a few were even daring). I believe we are living in times which are challenging us to be daring, and perhaps even a little adventurous.

Our society is in turmoil, people are living the way the Israelites were at one point in the Old Testament. Judges 21:25 tells us of those people, “every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” It might well say this: “Everyone fulfilled their own passions irregardless of others or God’s instructions.” It wasn’t acceptable to God and he corrected the situation.

Isn’t that where the overwhelming flood of “Political Correctness” has been leading us. Isn’t that the subtle, one small step, one small change in beliefs at a time, a planned and directed transformation which has been guiding our society?

I asked a teenager the other day what he thought of the “transgender using whatever bathroom they want” directive the president has given. He replied that there were a couple of guys like that in his school, but he tried not to judge them. My response was that you do not have to judge them, that God’s Word has already done that. In the latter part of Genesis 2 God creates woman out of man… A distinct difference, no cross over uncertainty as to who you were. You were (and are) who God created you to be.

God is not a God of confusion, he is clear at to what he means for us to be, either male or female; that’s how he created us. We really do not have a choice in the matter, it is our society, carefully guided by Satan that has led this belief that you can be a different sex if you want to be.

Now, you can scream and holler and protest all you want, but it doesn’t change what God’s Word teaches us. I fully expect that at some point in the not to distant future, unless we demand some change, that the Bible, God’s Word will be prohibited from being read or taught. You may think, “That will never happen!” Really, a couple of years ago would you have thought that our government would be trying to force you to allow men into the bathroom with your daughters and wives and women in to the bathroom with your sons and husbands?

God made us distinct for a reason and now mankind is trying to say they are smarter than God. Dangerous times? Adventurous times? You can choose to sit back and do nothing, or stand and be counted and let your voice be heard. What will you do?
