The annual Stateline Heritage Days in downtown Union City will carry on the tradition of family and friends getting together for fun, food and entertainment. Performers include the Bulldogs, Mix Factory, St. Right, Spittin Image, Ticket to Ride and the traditional melodrama. The Big Parade will be held on Saturday, Aug. 6. Lunch with Railroad author

August 8, the Preservation Society of Union City, Indiana-Ohio is hosting Andrew Olsen, author of the recently published book, The Bee Line Railroad at a free lunch at the Arts Depot at noon.

Olsen’s talk and visual presentation will be of interest to railroad and local history fans. To make a reservation for the free lunch and presentation, call Ted Leahey at 765-964-5370.

August 27 Patio, pools and ponds Tour

The Preservation Society of Union City, Indiana-Ohio is sponsoring a Garden Tour featuring patios, pools and ponds. The Tour will be held on August 27 from 1 – 4 p.m.

Tickets for the August 27 are $10 each and can be purchased by calling Ted Leahey at 765-964-5370 or Linda DeHaven at 765-964-4007.

Don’t miss this garden tour, more details about the five gardens will be featured each week.

Painting Our Town with Paper and Paint

A mixed media class will be held on the 27 of August. Featuring paintings done with paper and paint and titled “Painting our Town with Paper and Paint,” the class will consist of a photo for each person to choose from that features a point of interest of our Union City, each person will create their own artwork on a 12 by 12 or 10 by 10 canvas. The canvas will then be sealed and on display during the Union City Arts Festival September 9, 10 and 11 . The fee is $25 per person. No lunch will be served, bring your own sack lunch. The class would be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on August 27 at the Art Hub. You can register by calling 765-964-4007 or 937-564-6719. Class is limited, so register soon.
