Greenville churches unite for The Way of the Cross

GREENVILLE – This Good Friday, five Greenville churches united once again for the annual devotion known as “The Way of the Cross.”The event, which is sponsored by The Greater Greenville Ministerial Association, seeks to tell the story of Jesus Christ in his last hours, culminating with his death on the cross.On Friday the event started at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, where members of the service were invited to carry a large wooden cross representing the one that Christ carried more than 2,000 years ago.From there, the day moved over to St. Paul United Church of Christ, First United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church, and concluded at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

 

Spring planting delayed by chilly, wet weather
