Arcanum, Franklin Monroe earn No. 1 seeds in OHSAA softball tournament

DARKE COUNTY – The Arcanum and Franklin Monroe softball teams earned No. 1 seeds in the Ohio High School Athletic Association sectional tournament.

Franklin Monroe (10-7) is the No. 1 seed in the Division IV Dayton sectional. The Lady Jets will play host to the winner of fourth seeded Yellow Springs (5-8) and fifth seeded Twin Valley South (5-14) at 5 p.m. May 12.

Both Arcanum (19-2) and Versailles (11-6) are in the Division III Northmont sectional.

Arcanum is the top seed in the sectional and will play host to the winner of fifth seeded Triad (12-9) and 10th seeded Milton-Union (7-15) at 5 p.m. May 11.

Versailles is the seventh seed in the sectional and will play host to 11th seeded Anna (7-8) at 5 p.m. May 9.

Greenville (14-5) earned the second seed in the Division II Dayton sectional and will play host to 17th seeded Belmont (4-2) at 5 p.m. May 10 in the opening round of the tournament.

Ansonia (16-5) is the third seed in the Division IV Sidney 3 sectional and will play host to 15th seeded Botkins (0-11) at 5 p.m. May 12.

Tri-Village (3-12) is the 11th seed in the Division IV Sidney 2 sectional and will travel to 10th seeded Lehman Catholic (7-8) to begin postseason play.

Sixth seeded Bradford (13-8) will play host to 12th seeded Mississinawa Valley (3-17) in the first round of the Division IV Sidney 1 sectional.
