Greenville ranked No. 6 in season’s final OHSFSCA state softball poll

COLUMBUS – The Greenville softball team finished No. 6 in the final Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association state rankings of the 2016 season.

The Lady Wave moved up one spot this week to sixth in the Division II rankings in the sixth and final poll of the year. Greenville moved ahead of Oak Harbor and Fairfield Union in the state rankings while Jefferson Area moved ahead of the Wave. Greenville remained behind Hebron Lakewood, LeGrange Keystone, Jonathon Alder and Kenton Ridge.

Greenville has been ranked in all six of this season’s state polls, ranging from fifth place to seventh place.

Greenville is the lone Darke County team to be ranked in the OHSFSCA poll this season. The Lady Wave have been ranked in 77 of the last 78 state polls.

Other teams with Darke County connections ranked in the poll include Greater Western Ohio Conference member Northmont being ranked No. 6 in Division I, Cross County Conference member Covington being ranked No. 3 in Division IV and Midwest Athletic Conference member New Bremen being ranked No. 9 in Division IV.
